A mist creature is a creature that has been enchanted or formed by the mist. Corrupted, unfiltered arcane energy constitute much of creature, to the point that the creature is no longer alive, but merely powered by a blind form of magic. Most of the Mist Creatures are deadly, though how deadly they are depends on how concentrated of a Mist fills their presence.
Mist creatures are commonly separated into two different categories: Mistling or Mist-born. Both categories of mist creatures have low threat to high threat variants, and thus neither should be taken lightly when traveling.
Mistlings
A mistling is a mist creature that was formed by the mist itself. Often they look like a moving amalgamation of a creature, they should not be underestimated in their lethality and viciousness. Most mistlings have the highest concentration of the mist, that is to say raw arcane energy, within them, making them potent foes to fight.
Mist-borns A mist-born is a mist creature that was formed by a previously uncorrupted creature that is corrupted by the mist.
Low Threat Mistlings
A low threat mistling is a mistling that is either weak and thus can be defeated easily (unless in a swarm), or a mistling that does not display aggressive tendencies unless provoked. Some Low Threat Mistlings have been reported to have blended with the human/elvic population, though their stunning concealment makes them foes to be wary of.
